What happened when I worked on my mental fitness

December 8, 2021

Have you had a particular goal, or something you’ve been working on this year? If so, how has it gone? As I write this, I’m a stones throw from reaching my target to walk 1010.5 miles in 12 months.

It’s been a good way to stay physically fit and see friends, like my walking buddy Rachel (taking our socially distanced selfie here), who’s matching my distance to make it a total of 2021 miles. The sun shone on us that day, but friendly walks were even more welcome in the dark days of last winter when socialising was restricted to outdoors. In that respect, walking’s been just as essential for my mental fitness.

Something else that’s been invaluable for my mental fitness is Positive Intelligence (PQ). I did the PQ programme back in Spring. Nine months on, it has transformed my life.

I’m so convinced of the benefits PQ offers, I now use it as part of my coaching and have become to PQ coach with Positive Intelligence Inc. to run their 6-week programme and support people with their ongoing mental fitness, whether they are being coached by me or not.

One of my current participants said “Humanity needs this course”. I couldn’t agree more. We are in challenging times and I want to do everything I can to help people build the resilience to not just cope with them, but improve them too.

Fancy less worry, anger or guilt next year?

Positive Intelligence is a science-based, tried-and-tested way of increasing your ability to handle life’s challenges through positive rather than negative emotions. So life has less worry, anger and guilt and more empathy, creativity and clear-headed action. I saw remarkable change within just six weeks, at which point I knew I would keep practising mental fitness for life.

Friends could see the difference too. I was more confident, decisive and productive in my work. I prioritise and focus better. I can even concentrate to read a book again! At home, I micromanage my boys far less and I’m more direct in asking for help.

But it’s not just me, here’s what one of my participants says:

“I wish I’d discovered this course years ago. I’m still astonished at how these simple focus exercises are allowing me to finally quiet the fear and worry that has ruled my life up until this point. If you struggle with your emotions ruling you, or if you have strong negative     self-talk, this course is going to change your life.”

So maybe that’s you? Maybe you struggle with harsh self-judgement, imposter syndrome, procrastination or you’re simply overwhelmed with everything you’ve got on your plate? Maybe there was something you dearly wanted to achieve this year, but some of these things got in the way? If that’s the case, make it next year’s goal to do something about it by exploring Positive Intelligence.

How the 6-week programme works

The ground-breaking programme combines weekly video lessons, online group sessions and daily app-guided practice to give you the insight, motivation and structure to strengthen your 3 core mental fitness “muscles”.

The results? Improved performance and productivity and a calm, clear and happier mind.

Now, that would help you achieve your goals in 2022!
